Cents and the City is a fictional comedy podcast that follows a young professional navigating financial independence in New York City — with guidance from real-life financial experts created and voiced by yours truly. This original series blends storytelling, humor, and expert advice to make financial literacy both relatable and entertaining for young professionals.

Born out of a need for more culturally relevant, engaging personal finance content, Cents and the City was developed during the 2020 Spotify Sound Up program — where Yinka emerged as the first runner-up and winner of the final competition. The goal: to create a binge-worthy audio series that demystifies money for urban millennials navigating life in the Big Apple.
With the guidance and support of Spotify’s team, and my producer, I led the entire creative and production process, from ideation to launch:
